Aspartame is a neurotoxin, and it damages the brain. It's one of what Dr. Blaylock calls excitotoxins - it excites the neurons and they are then damaged. It's just not a good idea for anyone to use it, plus it affects blood sugar, whereas saccharine does not.

Since Aspartame is a neurotoxin it should not be used by children with autism.
