Mik discovered Elaine Gottshall's book "Breaking The Vicious Cycle" about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet in the summer of 1996, at the website of John Chalmers. At this time, he was very sick with Colitis, heavily drugged with Cortisone and unable to work.

The SCD changed his life. He hasn't touched any medicine since August 1, 1996, and since the symptoms disappeared during the following half year, he hasn't had any serious relapses since. In Denmark, Mik's promotion of the book has led to that "Breaking The Vicious Cycle" now also exists in a Danish translation, and even has a Danish follow-up, entitled "Continue The Good Cycle".

Until 2002, Mik worked for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation as a music editor. He now runs his own tv production company, Mild Prodcuctions. He also does personal coaching.

Mik's hobbies and interests include: world music - especially African music, radio, publishing, writing music, relaxing on the beach with his laptop, and travel.
